Jess Hogarth Feature

Thanks very much to the lovely Jess Hogarth for featuring me on her blog this week, you can check out what she had to say here. Jess Graduated from Printed textiles at Leeds College of Art just as I was applying to the course, I remember following her blog all those years ago and thinking 'when I grow up I want to make playful illustrative prints just like her'! As well as having her own wallpaper available on Not On The High Street Jess has also been chosen to design a wallpaper with Graham and Brown which will be available in Autumn!

New Designers / Degree Show

A very overdue blog post.

Sorry for my absence recently, I've been busy finishing my degree!! 

If you have been following me on twitter or instagram you may have noticed that I have been in a whirlwind of exhibiting my final collection at the Leeds College of Art degree show and also at New Designers Part One since my last post. 

At New Designers I was lucky enough to be award the Harlequin Award for my wallpaper collection! I still can't quite believe it!

More Designs On The Go

I've been working on some more simple, complimentary designs today. Really like this seaside shell textile print for kidswear.

Final Design Development

As you can see I've been busy putting together my final collection, only four weeks left as of tomorrow! On Friday I printed a 3 foot giraffe! He still needs colouring in (I was just checking the scale) but isn't he lovely?! Last week I found out that I will be exhibiting at New Designers Part One in June! What great news! If you are in London between the 26th and 29th of June pop in and say hello!

What's New: Busy In The Print Room

 This last week I have been busy in the print room printing my new dinosaur lino cuts and screen printing my beautiful lion. As you can see my studio space is looking nice and full after all that printing! Today I'm working on some more dinosaurs and maybe an Iguana if I have time.Hopefully over the next few weeks everything will start coming together for my degree show collection, stay tuned for updates!

SPUR

An unrelated snap of a cute puppy in I took in Northern Thailand.

I have done a little bit of writing for SPUR about taking career advice for strangers on public transport and other third year rediculousness, if you fancy a read you can find it here (be warned I write a bit like a Mizz magazine journalist).

Lovely Lion

This lovely lion started off as a lino print this morning and has now bloomed into a beautiful coloured lion, tomorrow he will become a three colour screen print, more updates soon!

The Story Of The Sea - Work In Progress

The start of an underwater sea pattern, lovely the coral but think it could do with a bit more texture. I think this one might be translated into wall stickers, which is exciting!
